                                                Architecture Course & Entrance Exam

The basic requirement for getting admissions into architecture course is to pass 12th standard or 2nd PUC with physic, chemistry and mathematics as the basic subjects. Candidates who have completed a 10+3 diploma in any stream are also eligible to apply for the course.

It is important to appear and clear NATA or National aptitude test in architecture to enroll into the Bachelors in Architecture course. It is the official exam conducted by the Council of architecture. The exam has two parts – the first is an online multiple choice questionnaire which contains 20 questions from mathematics and 40 questions covering general aptitude. Each question carries two marks. The 1st part of the exam is for 120 marks and the candidates get a maximum of 90 minutes to finish it. The second part of the exam is a drawing session where the students are judges on –

  • Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner
  • Visualising and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on surroundings
  • Sense of perspective drawing
  • Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form
  • Creating interesting two dimensional composition using given shapes and forms
  • Creating visual harmony using colours in given composition
  • Understanding of scale and proportions
  • Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences.

 The second part holds 80 marks. The whole exam is for a total of 200 marks and the overall qualifying mark is decided after taking in post exam statistics. The mathematics MCQ will be based on 11th and 12th CBSE and PUC syllabus and the general knowledge part contains questions to test your awareness and the aptitude questions that judges your architectural knowledge.
